When Drones Become a Civil Threat — RV Connex Brings Counter-UAS Expertise to Thailand's Aviation Authority
03 July 2026
Bangkok, 3 July 2026 — R V Connex Co., Ltd., led by Associate Professor Dr. Sujate Jantarang, President, and a team of specialists, conducted a Counter-UAS technology briefing and demonstration at the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) headquarters. The session was hosted by Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director-General of CAAT, and attended by representatives from the UAS Standards Division.
During the briefing, RV Connex presented its expertise and development roadmap across a range of Counter-UAS capabilities, including RF-based drone detection systems, target tracking and analysis technologies, and integrated drone threat management platforms. The session also explored practical applications of these technologies in airspace management, civil aviation safety, and the protection of critical infrastructure — areas of growing importance as unmanned aerial systems become increasingly prevalent in both civilian and defence contexts.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sujate Jantarang, President of R V Connex Co., Ltd., stated: "The threat landscape from unmanned aerial systems has evolved far beyond the defence perimeter — it now reaches airports, urban airspace, and critical national infrastructure. This engagement with CAAT reflects our belief that the technology developed for the defence sector can and should be adapted to serve the civilian domain. Thailand has the expertise to address these challenges with indigenous solutions, and we see tremendous opportunity in working alongside regulatory authorities to build a safer, smarter airspace for the country."
This briefing marks a meaningful step in RV Connex's continued effort to bridge the gap between defence technology and civil aviation safety — bringing domestically developed Counter-UAS capabilities into the national regulatory framework, and reinforcing Thailand's capacity to respond to the evolving challenges of modern airspace management in line with international standards.
RV Connex looks forward to continued engagement with CAAT and contributing further to the development of Thailand's unmanned aviation ecosystem.
