RV Connex, Chula Partner to Launch Thailand’s Premier 3,000-Rai Innovation Center in Saraburi
20 October 2026
Saraburi, 20 October 2026 — R V Connex Co., Ltd., led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sujate Jantarang, President, visited the operational site at Chulalongkorn University’s Social Engagement Centre in Saraburi Province, where it demonstrated unmanned aircraft systems in a simulated disaster response mission. The visit was hosted by Prof. Dr. Rungsun Rerknimitr, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, together with the university’s executive team, who joined as guests of honour for the demonstration.
This activity builds on the Memorandum of Understanding "Partnership for the Future of Innovation", under which both parties share the goal of conducting research, developing prototypes, and testing technology in real-world operating environments across a site of more than 3,000 rai (approximately 1,186 acres). The site is currently being developed as a model area for technology transfer to industry and workforce development, including the establishment of a UAS Research, Development and Test Center to support national-level research and technology testing.
The demonstration simulated two linked disaster response missions. It began with the search for a survivor in a forested area using the TITUM M2-100 unmanned aircraft, equipped with an EO/IR camera and a loudspeaker for communicating with the survivor. Flying at an altitude of approximately 60 metres, the aircraft identified the survivor’s position and guided two rescue personnel into the area.
When a wildfire was then detected in the same area, the demonstration moved to the aerial delivery of firefighting equipment using the TITUM M2-200, which transported the equipment directly to the incident site. Responders then used the equipment to connect a water hose to a pump and draw water from a nearby lake to bring the fire under control. The demonstration showed how unmanned aircraft systems can be applied both to search and rescue and to the delivery of mission-support equipment in hard-to-reach terrain.
In terms of performance, the TITUM M2-100 supports a maximum payload of 10 kilograms with an endurance of 40 minutes, while the TITUM M2-200 supports a maximum payload of 30 kilograms with an endurance of 30 minutes. Both models have a service ceiling of 1,500 feet.
RV Connex is committed to developing and manufacturing unmanned aircraft systems domestically, from design and development through to production, in order to strengthen Thailand’s technological capability and reduce reliance on imports. The collaboration with Chulalongkorn University is a further step toward turning research into real-world application, while supporting the long-term development of the nation’s technology workforce and knowledge base.
RV Connex extends its sincere thanks to Chulalongkorn University and all teams involved for their support of the operation and the demonstration.
